| Gym | Rating | Reviews | Hours | Standout |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |

## What to look for in a Laurel gym

- **Hours that match your schedule.** If you work odd shifts or want a 3 AM workout, not every gym can accommodate that.
- **Childcare, if you need it.** Not all gyms offer this, and it can be the deciding factor for parents.
- **Rating alongside review volume.** A higher rating on a smaller review base isn't automatically better than a slightly lower rating with 2x the reviews behind it.
- **Class variety vs. flexibility.** A bigger chain often means more scheduled classes. A smaller gym often means more flexibility in how and when you train.

## LA Fitness

LA Fitness is located at 327 Montrose Ave and holds a 3.7 rating across 886 reviews, by far the most-reviewed gym in Laurel. It's a well-equipped, spacious gym offering group classes and personalized training programs, with hours running 5 AM to 10 or 11 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 8 PM on weekends.

**Best for:** people who want a big national gym with a wide class schedule and don't need overnight access.
**Live hours:** 5 AM to 11 PM Monday through Thursday, 5 AM to 10 PM Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM weekends.
**Real ratings:** 3.7 stars, 886 reviews.
**Bottom line:** the rating is lower than Fitness Evolution's, but with more than double the review volume, it reflects a much bigger sample of Laurel members.

## Fitness Evolution

Fitness Evolution is located at 3541 Laurel Fort Meade Rd and holds a 4.4 rating across 378 reviews. It's an informal gym offering a variety of fitness programs and personal training sessions, plus on-site childcare, and it's open 24 hours.

**Best for:** parents who need childcare while they work out, or anyone who wants access outside normal gym hours.
**Live hours:** Open 24 hours, every day.
**Real ratings:** 4.4 stars, 378 reviews.
**Bottom line:** the higher rating plus 24/7 access and childcare make this the more flexible option for a lot of Laurel residents.

## Which one should you use

If your schedule is unpredictable, you work early mornings or late nights, or you need childcare while you train, Fitness Evolution's 24-hour access and on-site childcare make it the more practical pick. If you want a bigger facility with a wider class schedule and don't mind sticking to standard gym hours, LA Fitness is the more established option, backed by the largest review base of any gym in Laurel.
